Hanging Gardens of Babylon

Hanging Gardens of Babylon it is also known as Hanging Gardens of Semiramis. It is present near Al-Hillah in Iraq. It is considered as one of the Seven World Wonders. It is built in late 600B.c By Nebuchadnezzar II. This is also constructed with same goal to win a womens heart as Taj Mahal,India. Nebuchadnezzar II built this Garden for his lovely wife. His wife loves to grow trees and plants. And this garden is built by him to fullfill his wife desires.






The gardens were destroyed by earth quakes by 2nd Century B.C.The garden was 100 feet long and 100 feet wide. The roof of the vaults which is supported by stone beams which is around 16 feet long. On the top of the roof enough top soil is laid to make the biggest trees to take root.
